Mr. aibike
What can I do for you?
EN 12521:2023 sorts Tables into three groups — standard, decorative, and a new category called "delicate tables." Each carries different loads, so if your PO does not name the group, "compliant with the standard" means nothing.
There is a second problem. The 2023 edition replaced the 2015 edition on 31 May 2024. Any report issued against the 2015 edition is now expired.
Below is what an EN 12521 test load Table clause for Dining Table purchase order should contain — written so you can paste it into a contract.
It tests nine items, and splits tables by height, tabletop area and use — so loads differ by group.

EN 12521 is the European standard for the safety, strength and durability of domestic tables. It has no test methods of its own; every method is referenced from EN 1730:2012. The nine tests run in Table 2's sequence — the one you copy into your contract:
| Test | EN 1730 clause | Load | Cycles |
| Horizontal static load | 6.2 | 200 N (low group) / 400 N (all others) | 10 |
| Vertical static load (main surface) | 6.3.1 | 1000 N | 10 |
| Vertical static load (ancillary surface) | 6.3.1 | 200 N | 10 |
| Horizontal fatigue | 6.4 | 150 N / 300 N | 5,000 / 10,000 |
| Vertical fatigue (cantilever, pedestal) | 6.5 | 300 N | 10,000 |
| Vertical impact (no glass) | 6.6 | Drop height 140 / 180 mm | 10 |
| Vertical impact (glass top) | 6.6 | 140/180 mm safety glass, 180/240 mm other | 10 |
| Stability under vertical load | 6.7 | Main V1 = 200 N, V2 = 400 N | — |
| Stability with extension elements | 5.3.2 | 200 N | — |
Look at rows 4 and 5. Those are fatigue tests, not static loads. Plenty of quotations advertise "250 kg weight capacity" — a static figure with nothing to do with 10,000 fatigue cycles.
The grouping rule: tables 600 mm high or less, or with a tabletop of 0.25 m² or less, fall into the low group; everything else is high group. A 90 × 90 cm square table (0.81 m²) lands in the high group — its horizontal static load is 400 N, not 200 N.
So testing one reference table does not cover the 140 cm extendable model you added.
Bottom line: EN 12521:2023 contains nine tests whose loads are grouped by table height and tabletop area. Your EN 12521 test load table clause for dining table purchase order must state the test, the load, the cycle count and the group — miss one and it cannot be verified.
It added castor durability, height-adjustment durability, a decorative-table definition, and a new "delicate table" category.
EN 12521:2023 was approved on 22 October 2023 and published on 29 November 2023. The previous edition, EN 12521:2015, was withdrawn on 31 May 2024 — a hard line.
Main changes against the 2015 edition:

That last point matters. A table with a removable top was not tested before. Now it must be. If your range includes that design, the 2023 edition treats it as a new requirement, not a continuation.
Reports must state the standard reference, sample details, defects observed before testing, temperature deviation, test results, and the testing facility's name and address. A missing temperature deviation field usually means an unaccredited lab — and EN 1730 runs at 23 ± 2 °C and 50 ± 10 % humidity. Wood only reaches equilibrium in that range, so results taken outside it cannot be relied on.
Bottom line: EN 12521:2015 was withdrawn on 31 May 2024. The 2023 edition added castor durability (20 kg × 1,000 cycles), height-adjustment durability (minimum 25/50 kg × 5,000 cycles) and the delicate table category. Any report older than May 2024 must be retested, or confirmed in writing to cover the new items.
How do I verify table strength test report from china manufacturer?
Three things, and missing any one means nothing was tested: the original report, the lab's ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation scope, and a match between the report's model and the one you ordered.
A genuine report states the standard number with its edition year. If "EN 12521" appears without ":2023", it was tested to the old edition or paraphrased rather than reported — the step skipped most often in how to verify table strength test report from china manufacturer.
Then confirm the lab's 17025 scope covers the EN 1730 methods. SGS, TÜV, Intertek, Bureau Veritas and CATAS are common; an in-house "self-inspection report" is no substitute.
The final step is the one people skip: compare the model, construction and materials on the report against the physical product. A report covering a four-leg solid wood table does not cover the pedestal-base model. Only then is how to verify table strength test report from china manufacturer genuinely finished.
Does a delicate table fingertip clearance requirement for solid wood dining table actually apply to my order?
Almost certainly not — but know where the boundary sits, or you will pay for a test you do not need. That boundary is where searches for delicate table fingertip clearance requirement for solid wood dining table go wrong most often.
